Nick falls in World Trials Challenge Tournament Finals
6/1 - Nick advanced to the finals of the World Team Trials Challenge Tournament before falling to Angel Escobedo in a three period match.  Nick finished third overall to make his 2nd straight World Team as an alternate.  Obe Blanc of Gator WC won the Trials finale and will represent the US at 55kg.  Nick has never lost to Blanc, beating him most recently at the Big Ten-Big 12 Challenge.  Click more for full results.

Nick finishes 5th at US Open; Qualifies for World Trials
4/25 - In his first official competetion in the US since
undergoing shoulder surgery last summer, Nick
finished 5th at the US Senior Open last weekend
after dropping his 55kg quarterfinal match to former
NCAA Champ Angel Escobedo of Indiana.  Nick
came back to beat his former college rival Sam
Hazewinkel of Oklahoma in the wrestle-backs in
straight periods before dropping his consolation
semifinal match to top seed Danny Felix in a re-
match of last year's World Team Trials best-of-three
finale.  Nick is now qualifed for the World Team
Trials, which will take place June 10th in Council

Nick dominates at Big Ten-Big 12 Challenge
3/25 - During the NCAA Championships, USA Wrestling held an exhibition freestyle dual
featuring former Big Ten stars against graduates from the Big 12 in the Big 10-Big 12 Challenge.  Nick was one of the Big Ten representatives and he stole the show, racking up major points against Obe Blanc of Oklahoma State in a rematch of last year's US Open Finals.  The dual used a new scoring system that featured no techs and each individual's match points were used towards the final team score.  You can watch Nick's match and view the full results by clicking more.
